I am a mom to two very beautiful children. I am also a student and trying to better my future for myself and my kids. I had my daughter when I was 16, and shortly after that I became addicted to methamphetamine for almost 3 years. I have now been clean and sober since October 2003. My main goal in going to school is to help young women so that they do not have to face the same struggles that I did, and to help them through their hard times if they do. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and that maybe I was meant to go through the darkest times in my life so that I could find the light at the other end and help others to also overcome their demons and step into the light. I know how bleak and desolate life can feel at times, especially when you are confronted with situations such as becoming a parent at a young age or being trapped in an addiction, and I hope to be the lifeline for those struggling with these and similar problems.
